DataMentorsDebuts DMDataFuse 2.0

DataMentors Inc., a database marketing products and services provider, has released DMDataFuse 2.0, a modular matching system that lets businesses parse, standardize and match customer and prospect records at the individual, household and business levels with accuracy.

It also has phrase table enhancements that provide the ability to accurately handle phrases that have different meanings when the words are split apart.

Bob Orf, president of DataMentors, Tampa, FL, said an example of two words that have different meanings -- and data management implications -- when split is the phrase "real estate."

"In the past, a software matching system in a banking industry data warehouse environment would probably recognize and code the words separately, treating 'estate' as 'the estate of,' " Orf said. "Our new release recognizes phrases such as this for what they actually are, and would treat 'real estate' as a commercial name, not as two separate and unrelated words."

The original version of DMDataFuse, introduced in early 2000, is in use by more than 30 customers.
