Oracle releases integration applications
Oracle unveiled a host of new offerings at the Oracle OpenWorld meeting in San Francisco, including the Oracle Application Integration Architecture for SAP and three Process Integration Packs for the communications industry.
The Application Integration Architecture will allow SAP/Oracle customers to use a standards-based method to unify their enterprise applications and adopt a service-oriented architecture. More than 30% of SAP customers are Oracle Applications users.
Oracle Application Integration will allow SAP customers to build common business semantics and data attributes across applications.
The other products announced at OpenWorld - the three Process Integration Packs -were created as communications support systems. They will work across Oracle Siebel Customer Relationship Management, Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management and Oracle Financials.
The Process Integration Packs, named Order-to-Bill, Agent-Assisted Billing Care and Revenue Accounting, are based on a pre-existing Oracle platform for communications integration. The packs are designed to improve the accuracy of financial data, enhance call center productivity, simplify the order-to-bill process and ensure regulatory compliance.
Because the packs are pre-built to work with existing Oracle applications, integration time should be minimal. Oracle Process Integration Packs will not be available until 2008.
