News International to deliver integrated multichannel customer communications
News International has chosen customer communications specialists Broadsystem and its partner, SmartFocus, a provider of enterprise marketing management software for direct and database marketing, to deliver inbound and outbound communications to the group's readers and prospects.
News International is the main British subsidiary of New York-based News Corp., a diversified entertainment company with operations in eight industry segments. News International is a group of companies including Times Newspapers Ltd., which publishes The Times and The Sunday Times and News Group Newspapers Ltd.
Working with London-based Broadsystem and Bristol, Britain-based SmartFocus will enable News International to conduct integrated marketing campaigns that put the customer at the heart of the marketing strategy-including communicating with them through the media they wish to use.
SmartFocus' Enterprise Marketing Management software portfolio will manage the data and customer insights, as well as measure online and offline marketing campaigns across News International's British operations.
This is the first major deal to result from Broadsystem and SmartFocus' exclusive partnership, which was announced in early November 2006.
In other news, SmartFocus has announced its partnership with East Greenbush, NY-based I-Centrix 9, a provider of marketing services to the catalog and retail industries. Under the agreement, I-Centrix will employ smartFOCUS tools to enhance the database marketing services it offers clients.
I-Centrix is complementing its marketing services by using SmartFocus as a resource for campaign management, data analysis and marketing reporting that will give its clients a clearer, value-added customer view.
SmartFocus also recently announced that it has extended its partnership with San Francisco-based KXEN to deliver more advanced analytics.
KXEN provides business analytics software. Its KXEN Analytic Framework is distributed through partnerships with system integrators, application vendors, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
SmartFocus will extend its advanced analytics software, SmartModeler, with new algorithms from KXEN following the extension of the companies' partnership agreement.
SmartModeler is a visual data modeling application designed to enable marketers to accurately profile and predict customers' behavior.
