Mailer's Choice said yesterday that it has chosen tools from Pervasive Software to help customers quickly transform hundreds of legacy data types, including unstructured data sources, into a common, structured format for improved data management and data quality.

Mailer's Choice, Nashville, TN, specializes in business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing support services, including direct mail production, variable data laser printing and fulfillment programs. The company receives hundreds of thousands of customer data records weekly, it formerly converted unstructured data within these records manually, often a time-consuming task.


With the Pervasive Data Integrator Pro and Data Profiler tools software, Mailer's Choice can manage unstructured data while automating processes for billing, preparing monthly statements and tracking historical data.


"For a single customer, we could have thousands of invoices, credit memos and statements, all from differing data sources and targets, that needed to be moved into a structured database," said Gary McCullough, senior data analyst at Mailer's Choice. "Pervasive provides native connectors that allow me to rapidly extract and cleanse data from any file format and without the risks and time inherent with manual processing. We can automate up to 40,000 additional records per month, and our customers get cleaner data faster, helping both of us become more profitable."
