Hilton and JetBlue enter loyalty partnership

Hilton has joined its HHonors loyalty program with its JetBlue counterpart, TrueBlue, in an initiative that gives consumers TrueBlue points for stays at Hilton hotels. Members can also convert HHonors points into TrueBlue points under the terms of the agreement, which began April 14.

“This is the first of several new partnerships we will be adding to TrueBlue, to enable our members to earn more TrueBlue points," said Dave Canty, director of loyalty marketing at JetBlue, in a statement.

Consumers previously earned JetBlue points at a rate of one per $2 spent at Hilton hotels. The initiative doubles that to one point for $1. The promotion also allows members to exchange 5,000 HHonors points for 500 TrueBlue points, a threshold that will increase throughout the partnership.

Jeff Diskin, SVP of global customer marketing for Hilton, told DMNews earlier this month that HHonors has shifted its focus to casual travelers by "being more active with promotional activity, both added-value discount offerings and loyalty program offerings."

American Express and Dunkin' Donuts began a loyalty partnership last week enabling holders of the Blue family of American Express cards to earn $5 in Dunkin' Donuts gift cards for every four visits to the chain per month. Consumers also get a 20% bonus for filling their Dunkin' Donuts cards using their American Express accounts.

Representatives for Hilton and JetBlue could not be reached for comment by publication.
