Generic Site Names; Not so Generic Prices

Web domain company, Orlando, FL, this week made more than 150 domain names available for purchase through its Web site.

Peter McIntosh, director of West Coast marketing at the firm, said the company would typically seek cash and equity agreements of more than $75,000 for the names. Names for sale include, and The names are valuable, McIntosh said, because people often enter such generic phrases into search engines.

"We feel the timing is right (to sell the names)" McIntosh said. "Our whole deal is waiting for people to realize the importance of certain names that are industry-generic."
