Firstlogic Delivers Mover I.D. to Support NCOALink

Firstlogic Inc., LaCrosse, WI, announced the general release yesterday of its Mover I.D. option to support the U.S. Postal Service's NCOALink program. NCOALink will replace the National Change of Address and FASTforward products starting Oct. 1.

The NCOA and FASTforward Mailing List Correction products let mailers comply with the Move Update requirement to qualify for First-Class mail automation and presort discounts. NCOALink will replace both systems with one product that securely releases address information in a format that's a mathematical, 11-digit representation of the new address.

The USPS has said this will provide licensees access to sensitive address data in a more convenient and secure format, while reducing USPS oversight. The USPS also said NCOALink will let it expand its distribution, which will improve address quality and undeliverable-as-addressed mail. The week of Sept. 20 will be the last time NCOA data will be provided to licensees and Sept. 30 will be the last permissible date for the use of current NCOA data.

Firstlogic began shipping its software solution to its customers Aug. 17 to support efforts in obtaining certification to gain NCOALink provider or end-user status.

The Mover I.D. option for address correction and encoding technology allows end-users and mailing service provider organizations to ensure that mailing lists have accurate, up-to-date address information. The solution is available for Microsoft Windows and UNIX-based computing platforms.

Mailnet Services Inc., Nashville, TN, a direct marketing services organization and provider of automated mailing list processing, has been working with Firstlogic through its certification process to become an NCOALink service provider.

The firm will be among the first to receive the solution from Firstlogic.

The USPS has defined three levels of user licensing of NCOALink with three pricing structures: End-User Mailer; Limited Service Provider; and Full Service Provider. Firstlogic's solution supports all three levels of NCOALink.
