Edith Roman Creates Trade Publication Databases
Six more Bill Communications business publication files that are already a part of those databases will be added as of Oct. 1. The files total over 1.5 million names.
"Business to business files that are over a million names are rare," said Steve Roberts, president of Edith Roman Associates.
Previously, the files were handled by three separate managers, which did not allow for the creation of the master databases, he added.
The 30 business publications include such titles as The Gourmet Retailer, Apparel Industry, Convenience Store News, Discount Merchandiser, Display & Design Ideas, Gourmet Retailer, Point of Purchase, Restaurant Business, Retail Technology, and Sales & Marketing Management.
Geography, gender, job title, industry, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses are selectable on the files. Updates are done monthly.
The 30 files were compiled to make up 15 databases that allow mailers to target specific segments across all titles. The Bill Communications database segments include corporate management, female executives, food and beverage industry professionals, manufacturing professionals, retail industry professionals and service industry professionals.
"We really felt that if we could aggregate the information, we could reap the benefit of highly targeted databases as well as individual publication files," said Toni Nevitt, vice president of corporate services for Bill Communications, New York.
The selection of Edith Roman as sole manager took about six months, Nevitt said. Five other companies were competing for the files.
"We are dedicated to exceeding expectations and we wanted to be represented by a firm that has the same core business values," Nevitt said.
Bill Communications is a VNU Business Media company owned by publisher VNU, based in the Netherlands.
