EarthLink and TMone have partnered to promote EarthLink's Internet voice products, trueVoice and DSL and Home Phone Service.

Through the agreement, Iowa City, IA-based Tmone, a telesales and database marketing firm, will provide marketing sales support for EarthLink voice products trueVoice is Atlanta-based EarthLink's voice over Internet protocol or VoIP service that requires an ATA (analog telephone adaptor) to connect calls made on a regular telephone. EarthLink DSL and Home Phone Service combines fast broadband with an Internet phone service that is powered and carried through normal wire telephone lines over the last mile to the consumer's home. Both services provide all features and benefits of making telephone calls over the Internet, including enhanced voicemail, call forwarding, call waiting, call blocking, caller ID, award-winning 24/7 customer service, enhanced 911 service, and myVoice portal for managing calls online.

TMone will provide telesales and database marketing to assist in EarthLink's marketing outreach for its Internet voice products. TMone will use its proprietary broadband subscriber database to reach out to consumers about the benefits of EarthLink's trueVoice product line, while cross functional sales teams will offer bundled voice and data packages to potential customers.

Earlier this year, Tmone said its broadband database is estimated to encompass 90 percent of the U.S. broadband subscriber universe and has grown 315 percent in size since 2004.

The database consists of high-speed Internet consumers that have purchased broadband access such as cable, DSL or FTTH (fiber to the home) from companies such as AT&T, BellSouth, Qwest, Verizon, EarthLink, Covad, EMBARQ, Speakeasy, AOL, Time Warner, Yahoo, Cablevision, Cox, Charter, and Comcast.

The database is enhanced with demographic and lifestyle information and is the largest of its kind. The information within the database is overlaid with traditional databases to enable multiple selection options. Also, it is regularly passed through hygiene processes and can be suppressed against or appended to current customer and prospect files. The database is also scrubbed against the National Change of Address Database provided by the U.S. Postal Service.
