CC3 Buys Interest in @Once e-Messaging Firm
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
CC3 offers services such as end-to-end marketing database design and management, direct mail and e-mail marketing, fulfillment and e-fulfillment. It also offers CC3 Source, a line of proprietary list rental databases.
@Once's customers include Nike, Nintendo, Home Shopping Network and Warner Bros.
"Both CC3 and @Once can now provide clients with unfettered access to a broad base of optimal offline and online direct marketing services enabling complete coordination of activities, process controls, cost savings and maximum results," said CC3 president/CEO Don McKenzie, who also will join the @Once board of directors.
CC3 said the transaction continues the company's long-term growth strategy, which began in 2001 with the integration of its five sister businesses, to expand the company's national footprint through organic growth, acquisition and strategic investments.
Last year, Providence Equity Partners acquired a majority interest in CC3 with CC3's senior members purchasing a minority interest. McKenzie said that acquisition gave CC3 "the capital to go about and do exactly what we just did ... do acquisition for strategic investment to help build CC3's integrated direct marketing solution. This is the first move we've made since being acquired."
