CRM giant Salesforce.com announced today the anticipated November 4 release of its Performance Edition, which combines a bunch of Salesforce technologies into what the company called its “most comprehensive solution for sales and service.”

Performance Edition is essentially an upgrade to the company's Unlimited Edition, which when it was released in 2006 gave clients the ability to run their business processes (beyond just CRM) online. Clients currently using Unlimited Edition aren't obligated to upgrade and Salesforce will continue to support Unlimited Edition.

Here's how Performance Edition is packaged: The nominal CRM platform and apps comprise Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and the Salesforce Platform. Additional features include Data.com, which has contact and business data so sales reps can find leads; the coaching and feedback tool Work.com; the identity and access management tool Salesforce Identity; Live Agent, the web chat solution that integrates into Service Cloud; and the centralized information hub for service agents and customers called Knowledge.

Performance Edition is slated for release at $300 per user per month.

In a press release, Alex Dayon, president of applications and platform at Salesforce, said: "Performance Edition will combine [the vendor's sales and services] capabilities in a single solution to make it easier than ever to become a high performance customer company."
