The company announced the general availability of BusinessObjects Data Federator for EII. It provides customers with a virtual, real-time view of data sources.

Business Objects also introduced new EIM Global Services to help customers evaluate current information management challenges, develop a customized EIM strategy and create best practices.

Business Objects also will extend EIM solutions globally in cooperation with partner technologies and services and the company introduced BusinessObjects Metadata Manager, which gives administrators complete visibility into all metadata so they can view, analyze, and explore metadata relationships and business rules.

On April 3, Business Objects finalized the acquisition of Firstlogic, a market leader in data quality software and services. Data quality is critical for a comprehensive EIM strategy. Business Objects will continue to deliver data quality products for name parsing, address enhancement and consolidation as part of the data integration platform.
