Crispin Porter & Bogusky to layoff 6% of staff

Renowned agency Crispin Porter & Bogusky is cutting about 6% of its 900+ employee staff, or 60 employees, in its Boulder, CO, and Miami offices.

Katie Kempner, VP, communications at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, attributed the layoffs to the bad economy.

"In response to the current economic climate, advertising budgets are being reduced in virtually every industry,” said Kempner, in a statement.

While claiming that the business is doing well – not a surprise with advertising clients including Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Burger King, Domino's, Volkswagen and Best Buy – Kempner said, “we are not immune to the constriction of the economy.”

“We do not anticipate any further staff reductions,” Kempner added. “These are extraordinary times, and we hope that we will not have to do this again."
