Creo Updates PDF Workflow System

Creo Inc. is preparing to launch an upgrade of its Prinergy PDF workflow management system, and is now the sole supplier of the system, the Vancouver, British Columbia, company said last week.

Creo said that the company's original equipment manufacturing, or OEM, marketing agreement with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, a printing press maker, for the sale of the Prinergy system ended May 18.

Heidelberger and Creo formed a joint venture to develop and market co-branded products in 1997 and jointly announced the launch of Prinergy in August 1999.

The latest installment of Prinergy, version 2.2, introduces new trapping and color management capabilities. It also enhances automation capabilities and quality and control in the pressroom, Creo said.

Creo customers are expected to get their first glimpse of the updated system at the Creo Users Association meeting May 28-31 in St. Petersburg, FL.
