Cox signs TargetSpot for Web radio ad placement

Cox Media Group, a subsidiary of media giant Cox Enterprises, signed TargetSpot on April 6 to place ads on its Internet radio properties. TargetSpot will feed 10- to 15-second ads into the streams of 82 Cox radio stations in 19 markets.

TargetSpot ads are served in real-time at the advertiser's discretion and accompanied by a banner ad. The ads reach both computer and mobile radio listeners, and include measurement capabilities.

“We have our own sales force that works with large advertisers,” said Eyal Goldwerger, CEO of TargetSpot. “When an ad runs, a companion banner also appears on the player, and we measure clickthroughs and other analytics.”

Other companies working with TargetSpot include MySpace Music, Life365, AOL Radio and Yahoo Shoutcast.

A representative from Cox could not be immediately reached for comment.
