Cox Interactive Taps Viaweb Mall Software to Sell Ads

Local Web content provider, Cox Interactive Media, Atlanta, last month announced that it would be using technology from online mall operator Viaweb, Cambridge, MA, to support its offering of advertising options to local advertisers. Cox City Sites are interactive, multimedia local sites that include news and community items.


Cox has studios in 20 markets that produce city sites, including AccessAtlanta.com and AccessArizona.com.


In other news, Viaweb announced partnerships with The Boston Phoenix and the Orange County Register that will allow the newspapers to build online stores for their customers and advertisers using Viaweb Store. The Boston Phoenix covers the arts, entertainment and culture in the Boston area, and the Orange County Register's general-purpose informational site covers a market of 2.6 million Orange County, CA, residents.
