Coremetrics to Capture Data for Nortel

Nortel Networks Corp. yesterday chose Coremetrics Inc. to provide customized data capture and storage services for its corporate Web site.

San Francisco-based Coremetrics will capture visitor activity data from the Nortel corporate site to provide the Brampton, Ontario, company with a complete source of information about online customer behavior. Nortel will use Coremetrics' customized data capture technology and the Core Data Platform to improve Internet business performance and increase overall customer satisfaction.

Coremetrics will gather online customer data directly from the visitor's browser, recording interactions in real time. The customer information will be stored in the Core Data Platform, a hosted data warehouse.

Information from the Core Data Platform will be delivered to Nortel nightly for analysis of Web site usability and performance.
