Coremetrics Buys IBM Analytics Unit
Web analytics provider Coremetrics is expected to announce today that it acquired IBM's SurfAid Analytics, an on-demand Web analytics service.SurfAid Analytics, Dallas, was started by IBM Global Services in 1996. It long has been known in the Web analytics community for its commitment to service, ad-hoc report-building capabilities, segment analysis, flexibility to meet unique customer needs and pervasive application use.
Its customer base spans communications, manufacturing, media, publishing, retail, financial services and travel/transportation as well as corporate intranets.
Coremetrics and SurfAid plan to merge the best of each platform.
Coremetrics also is to announce that it teamed with IBM Corp. to offer a multichannel business analytics solution for Web sites running IBM's WebSphere Commerce e-commerce software.
