CoolSavings Unveils Affiliate Program

CoolSavings, Chicago, hopes to drive traffic and boost its 4.3 million-member base with the launch yesterday of an Internet affiliate marketing program. Tapping the services of LinkShare Corp., Mountain View, CA, the program will allow participating Web sites to promote the coolsavings.com coupon service on their own sites and receive a commission for every new member that signs up.

According to Chuck Hildebrandt, director of online marketing for coolsavings.com, the affiliate marketing program will give the company the opportunity to reach potential members through targeted Web sites that it might not have otherwise reached through traditional online marketing efforts.

"Many smaller sites have very devoted audiences that trust the content of the sites they visit and consequently these sites will create a high level of credibility for us," Hildebrandt said.

LinkShare is a provider of affiliate marketing programs for companies conducting business on the Web.
