Convergys Acquires MaxWorldwide

Call center operator Convergys Corp., Cincinnati, said yesterday that it acquired MaxWorldwide LLC, which provides outsourced, on-call experts that companies can use to provide added benefits to their customers. Convergys did not disclose the terms of the acquisition. The company also did not disclose the annual revenues of privately held MaxWorldwide, Herndon, VA.

A Convergys spokesman said MaxWorldwide's call center, which employs 65 agents, has been absorbed into the Convergys Customer Management Group.

MaxWorldwide provides such experts as mechanics, home maintenance and repair specialists and nurses. It markets this service as a means for companies to distinguish themselves from competitors in the marketplace, and to improve customer loyalty. MaxWorldwide also creates Web pages for customer self-help.
