Consumers Now Get Offers Through Change-of-Address Service

The U.S. Postal Service now features offers from several companies on its change-of-address Web site, Movers Guide Online, the agency said this week.

Companies include AT&T, JC Penney, NetFlix, Lowe's, Penske, Staples, Storage USA and Assurant Renters Insurance.

When consumers go to change their address at www.usps.com/moversguide/, they receive offers ranging from saving 20 percent on a Penske rental to 15 percent off online orders of $50 or more from JCPenney.com.

Movers Guide Online lets consumers file change-of-address information. Once the user completes the information, he enters a credit card number for verification. There is a $1 fee for this security feature.

The USPS has offered its online change-of-address service since fall 2001. The USPS said 44 million Americans relocate each year.
