Consolidated Graphics to buy pop-up printer Cyril Scott

Consolidated Graphics Inc. has signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire The Cyril Scott Company.

In the past 30 months, Consolidated has acquired 12 printers around the country, including Hopkins Printing Inc., Columbus, OH; Global Group Inc., Fort Worth, TX; The Hennegan Co., Florence, KY; and Nies/Artcraft Companies, St. Louis. It currently owns more than 70 printing facilities located across 27 states.

Cyril Scott, Lancaster, OH, was founded in 1959. A recognized leader in the bind-in market, the company produces multi-featured print products for the direct mail market including pop-up, pop-out, nested designs and kiss-cut sticker options as well as specialty laser labels and clean release cards. Other items it produces include coupons, collectibles and gaming devices.

The company's present management team, led by Leslie McClelland, will remain with Cyril Scott following the completion of the transaction with Consolidated, Houston, TX.
