Publisher Condé Nast has named Specialists Marketing Services (SMS) its exclusive list management provider, effective with orders placed beginning January 3. SMS will replace Infogroup's Direct Media Millard.

Condé Nast selected Hasbrouck Heights, NJ-based SMS in October after a three-month RFP process.

“After careful review, we feel that our brands will be best represented at Specialists Marketing Services,” said Jacquie LaValle, associate consumer marketing director at Condé Nast. “We are confident that their experienced sales team and strategic marketing plan will ensure our list rental revenue is maximized.”

Condé Nast declined to comment on why it replaced Direct Media Millard.

Lon Mandel, CEO of SMS, would not speculate on why the publishing company picked SMS over other list management service providers.

A Direct Media Millard representative could not be immediately reached for comment.

SMS also recently won the account of media and marketing company Meredith Corp, beginning work November 1. The hire effectively ended Meredith's nine-year relationship with American List Council.
