ComScore: Angelfire.com Most Visited Site by Teens and Under-24

Terra Lycos' Angelfire.com Web site has become the most visited in the teen category for teen-agers and for adults up to age 24, according to online media measurement service comScore Media Metrix.


The site in August attracted 5.2 million unique visitors, ranking it above Teen People, AOL Teens, Seventeen, Alloy, Bolt, YM and About Teens.


Angelfire is known for Web journals called blogs, site-building tools, e-mail and Web page hosting. Users like creating fan sites on sports, comics, games, movies, celebrities and music.


Based in Waltham, MA, Angelfire claims an audience of more than 16.6 million, including members and visitors. It is part of a global Terra Lycos network that comprises properties like HotBot.com, Atrea.com, Gamesville.com, Matchmaker.com, Quote.com, Tripod.com, RagingBull.com and Wired News' Wired.com.


A Spanish company, Terra Lycos also offers Internet access in Spain and Latin America. Terra Networks bought U.S.-based Lycos Inc. in 2000 to form Terra Lycos.
