Commtouch partners with Check Point Software, releases reputation platform

Malware management services firm Commtouch has signed up software firm Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. to manage its e-mail monitoring.

The software firm will use Commtouch's e-mail defense services including a reputation monitor, an outbreak protection platform and an anti-spam identifier.

Commtouch also has released a new product, called the GlobalView Mail Reputation Service, a perimeter protection layer that blocks spam, malware and phishing messages and identifies zombie-sent messages in real-time.

Commtouch GlobalView blocks messages at the entry point, before the e-mail message is transmitted based on a real-time risk assessment of sender reliability. The platform distinguishes between good and bad sender based on the sender's IP address.
