Colucci Joins Mailers Council Board

Robert J. Colucci, vice president of Harte-Hanks, was elected to the board of directors of the Mailers Council, the nation's largest coalition of mailers.

Colucci leads the execution of direct mail marketing programs at Harte-Hanks and oversees offerings to its retail clients nationwide. Harte-Hanks, San Antonio, provides direct marketing services and shopper advertising opportunities to consumer and business-to-business marketers.

The board establishes policy and oversees long-term plans for the Mailers Council, a coalition of corporations, nonprofit organizations and major mailing associations.

Council members represent for-profit and nonprofit mailers that use the U.S. Postal Service to deliver correspondence, publications, parcels, greeting cards and payments. Collectively, the council accounts for as much as 70 percent of the nation's mail volume.

The Mailers Council, Arlington, VA, thinks the USPS can operate more efficiently, supports efforts aimed at containing postal costs and seeks lower postal rates without compromising service.

The other board members:

· Jerry Cerasale, senior vice president, government affairs, Direct Marketing Association

· Laurel Kamen, vice president, government affairs, American Express

· Alice M. Kijak, vice president, global operations shared services, The Reader's Digest Association

· Jim O'Brien, director, distribution and postal affairs, Time Inc.
