Coach's Q1 Sales, Income Jump
Net sales totaled $258.4 million in the fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 27, Coach Inc. reported yesterday, up 34 percent from $192.8 million in the same period of the previous year.Net income skyrocketed 88 percent to $42.3 million compared with $22.5 million in the prior year. In the quarter, gross profit increased 43 percent to $187.9 million from $131.2 million a year ago.
Also reporting results Tuesday was Blair Corp., Warren, PA. Net sales during the third quarter totaled $124.1 million compared with $117.8 million in the same quarter last year. Net income amounted to $793,000 compared with $279,000 a year ago.
