Who it is: Ralph Santana, named CMO of Harman Industries, a manufacturer of audio equipment

What's his role: He is responsible for leading the marketing organization, directing marketing strategy, and creating new marketing programs.

Where was he prior: Santana was previously SVP and CMO of Samsung North America. Before that, he held several marketing leadership roles at PepsiCo.

Why was he appointed: “He has been recognized by his peers as a leader among marketers and we expect him to carry his insights and approach to our marketing organization,” says President and CEO Dinesh Paliwal.

Who it is: Scott Eagle, appointed CMO of ValueClick, a digital marketing company

What's his role:  Eagle will oversee global strategy and the integration of marketing programs across ValueClick's business lines.

Where was he prior: He served as CMO at Empowered Careers, eHarmony, and Claria Corporation. Previous stops included Concentric Network Corporation, MFS Communications, and Procter & Gamble.

Why was he appointed:  "Through his leadership and expertise across traditional and integrated online marketing, Scott will raise the profile of our integrated offering and differentiate ValueClick from the numerous point solutions in the marketplace,”  says President and  CEO John Giuliani.

Who it is: Rachel Harrison, named CMO of Island Outpost, a Jamaican resort group

What's her role:  She will be responsible for creating and implementing the marketing strategy for all Island Outpost properties, which include GoldenEye, Strawberry Hill, and The Caves in Negril

Where was she prior: Harrison arrives at Island Outpost from Andaz by Hyatt, where she served as director of communications.

Why was she appointed: “Ms. Harrison's extensive experience in public relations, marketing, and branding for luxury hotels and resorts makes her a true asset to Island Outpost and a key figure in the future of the company,”  says Chris Blackwell, founder of both Island Records and the resort.

Who it is: Marc Johnson, named CMO of Resonate, a customer insights company

What's his role:  He is charged with driving brand awareness and marketplace understanding of how to use consumer values as part of a successful marketing strategy.  

Where was he prior: Johnson most recently managed Storyline Development, a research and marketing consultancy.  He previously served as CMO of Experian Hitwise and held marketing positions atThe NPD Group, Nielsen Buzzmetrics, and Jupiter Media Metrix.

Why was he appointed: “Marc brings essential expertise to the Resonate team as we expand our business from media strategy and buying into a true consumer intelligence company,” says CEO Bryan Gernert.

Who it is: Dennis Syracuse, appointed CMO at Madison Logic, a lead solutions provider

What's his role:  He will be responsible for developing a communication platform to support Madison Logic's rapid domestic and international growth. 

Where was he prior: Syracuse was the CMO at Datran Media, where he launched a cross-functional analytics team.

Why was he appointed: “We have a number of aggressive goals for the company in the coming year, and we are thrilled to welcome Dennis  aboard at a critical time of growth,” says CEO Erik Matlick.
