Clear Channel and Katz Media debut online radio network

Clear Channel Radio and Katz Media Group have created a new online radio network called the Katz Online Network, presenting a new opportunity for advertisers.

The station incorporates independent Internet radio stations with the online and mobile streams of AM and FM stations and syndicated content.

Advertisers can run audio spots as well as pre-roll video, display and synchronized banners on online media players. The network will also give advertisers audience metrics.

The network is delivering 79 million sessions per month to an audience of 5 million listeners per week. Office workers that listen to music throughout the day at work are a key demographic.

According to Arbitron and Edison Media Research, 33 million Americans listen to online radio, up from 29 million listeners last year.
