Cingular Weaves a 'Spider-Man' Campaign

Cingular Wireless began an integrated marketing campaign yesterday around "Spider-Man," Columbia Pictures' action film set for release May 3.


The campaign will include direct mail, print, TV and radio advertising and in-store placement.


Consumers will be able to buy Sony Ericsson T60 series handsets and limited-edition Spider-Man faceplates. Cingular will offer Spider-Man ring-tones, alerts and trivia games as part of the campaign.


Other promotions include a sweepstakes offering the chance to win one of two Dodge Vipers with a Spider-Man paint scheme and a calling-plan promotion. Cingular is also offering Spider-Man faceplates, a Spider-Man accessory bundle and Spider-Man prepaid calling cards.
