Chinwag Debuts Viral Marketing E-Mail List
Chinwag, an e-mail list hosting service based in the United Kingdom, is offering the uk-viralmonitor, an e-mail list that will send alerts to registered users featuring information about upcoming viral marketing campaigns.Marketing agencies can register for the list and post details of their viral campaigns. The company said the list is moderated and that it will accept only summary descriptions of viral marketing campaigns, not press releases or other material. Only text-based messages will be accepted.
Chinwag was started in 1996 by Sam Michel, a Web site developer. Its first newsletters dealt with Macromedia Corp.'s Flash technology. The company now has 15 e-mail lists focusing on business, marketing, technology and comedy. The company sends more than 500,000 e-mails a week.
