Children's Group Taps La Agencia de Orci

Court Appointed Special Advocates named La Agencia de Orci, a Hispanic advertising shop in Los Angeles, as its public relations agency of record.

La Agencia de Orci bested three other agencies in a formal review to win the business for increasing the organization's Hispanic volunteers. These volunteers are trained, then can be appointed by a judge to represent the interests of children in the U.S. court system.

More than 900,000 children nationally were reported as abused and neglected last year, the organization said. Of that, 14.5 percent, or 130,935, were Hispanic. Court Appointed Special Advocates has fewer than 2,500 Hispanic volunteers to help these children.

The agency is responsible for creation and execution of strategy, media relations, events, naming celebrity spokespeople, public service announcements and recruitment brochures for all 950 CASA programs nationwide.
