Chico's Hits Records for Q4, 2002
Chico's FAS Inc., Fort Myers, FL, announced record results yesterday for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended Feb. 1.Net income for the 2002 fiscal year was $66.8 million, up 58.2 percent from $42.2 million in the 52 weeks ended Feb. 2, 2002. Net sales jumped 40.5 percent to $531 million from $378 million in the prior period. Comparable-store sales for company-owned stores rose 13.5 percent.
During the fourth quarter, net income was $15 million compared with $9.8 million in the quarter ended Feb. 2, 2002. Net sales in the quarter climbed 36.4 percent to $138 million over the 2001 Q4. Comparable-store sales for company-owned stores rose 11 percent.
Net sales by catalog and Internet totaled $16.07 million for the year, compared with $10.2 million in 2001. Q4 net sales by catalog were $5.15 million, up from 2.89 million in the 2001 Q4.
