Chico's FAS Quarterly Profit Up 49 Percent
Chico's FAS Inc. reported its quarterly profit rose 49 percent yesterday mainly because of increased sales in its women's clothing stores.Chico's, Fort Myers, FL, posted net income of $24.5 million, or 28 cents per share, in its second quarter ended Aug. 2, compared with $16.4 million, or 19 cents, a year earlier.
Analysts had expected a 26 cents per share, according to Reuters Research.
