List compilation professional Charles Marro, senior vice president of direct sales at list firm ALC of New York LLC, died Dec. 27 at age 36.

After almost a decade in the list industry at such firms as Hugo Dunhill, The Specialists and American List Counsel, Marro joined ALC of NY, where he oversaw the building of its compilation division, in February 1998.

"It is a terribly sad time here," said ALC of NY chairman/CEO Andy Ostroy. "Besides being a cornerstone of our corporate success, Charlie was, more importantly, so loved by so many on a personal level. We feel like we've lost a member of our family. It's devastating."

The viewing and funeral have been tentatively scheduled for Sunday and Monday, respectively. Those who wish to attend should contact Raynor and D'Andrea Funeral Services at 631-589-2345 for details.

The family has requested that memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.

Additional information can be obtained from Anne Kramer at ALC of NY.
