Chapters Online, Telus Extend Online Marketing Pact

Chapters Online Inc., a Canadian e-commerce company, and Telus, Canada's second largest telecommunications company, yesterday signed a one-year marketing agreement to augment their pre-existing relationship and expand Chapters Online's marketing presence in British Columbia and Alberta.

Telus named Chapters.ca the recommended bookseller for its MyBC.com and Alberta.com Web portals as well as for additional regional content portals Telus plans to launch in the near future.

The Chapters Online Web site also features compact discs, videos, DVDs, software and consumer electronics.

Chapters.ca also secured advertising placements on all existing and planned Telus Web sites, which provide regional news, information, sports, entertainment and communications services.

The companies plan to promote their new relationship through joint marketing activities. Chapters Online will initiate a direct e-mail campaign to Telus' users and participate in the company's online newsletter.
