Causes selects Message Systems for e-mail delivery

Nonprofit organization Causes has selected e-mail delivery services firm Message Systems to power its e-mail deliverability across all of its sending platforms, including Facebook.

The Berkeley, CA-based organization lets consumers choose a cause and create a movement around it via a Facebook application. Since it launched in May 2007, the Causes community has grown to more than 75 million people. Consumers have created more than 290,000 causes and donated more than $11 million through the network.

To help deal with the growth, Causes, which manages its e-mail in-house, brought Message Systems on board.

This week, Causes is implementing Message System's Momentum product, which it will use to monitor e-mail deliverability. The tool has an intelligence router and a policy engine that lets clients set their own preferences for managing messages, incorporating internal and external applications and referencing multiple data sources.

“In tough economic times, it is hard to find people who are willing to donate to nonprofits, so it is extremely important that their messages be highly targeted, delivered at the right time and place and be delivered correctly,” said Dave Lewis, CMO of Message Systems.
