Catalog, Web Lead Jos. A. Bank Sales Increase

A strong performance in its direct marketing segment contributed to sales growth reported yesterday by Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc.


Total sales for the fiscal month ended April 3 rose 23.6 percent, reaching $29.9 million, the Hampstead, MD, company said. Combined catalog and Internet sales improved 18.7 percent while comparable-store sales increased 10.3 percent.


The company also generated a 35.4 percent jump to $53.9 million for the two months ended April 3. Combined catalog and Internet sales rose 25.3 percent while comparable-store sales moved up 19.8 percent.
