Catalog Marketing Services Buys Prefer Network

Further cementing a strategic alliance inked in June, Catalog Marketing Services yesterday said that it is buying the assets of Prefer Network.

While maintaining the independence of both players, the deal is aimed to create new marketing opportunities for catalogers.

Privately held and 2 years old, New York-based Prefer offers catalog clients services ranging from prospecting for new customers to modeling existing databases and reactivating house names.

Such services will help St. Paul, MN-based Catalog Marketing Services. Founded in 1982, the company offers marketing and database services, list processing, address hygiene and e-commerce.

Clients of Catalog Marketing Services include FAO Schwarz, Jos. A. Bank, The Territory Ahead, The Sportsman's Guide and Cabela's.
