Catalina Launches Compliance Direct

Catalina Marketing Corp.'s Health Resource Publishing Co., St. Louis, MO, this week announced Compliance Direct, a new direct mail program offered to clients as an advertising vehicle.


The program consists of personalized letters from pharmacists with sponsorship by drug manufacturers mailed directly from the retailer's pharmacists to patients' home. Letter content is designed to encourage drug compliance, such as reminders on prescription refills or detailed explanations about possible side effects of a particular drug.


Drug compliance is a major issue in the pharmaceutical industry. Non-compliance costs drug marketers more than $100 billion a year, according to the National Pharmaceutical Council.
