Carnival names Borden VP, customer marketing

Rob Borden joined Carnival Cruise Lines as VP of customer marketing on December 7.

He is overseeing the company's direct and e-mail marketing efforts, including its loyalty programs and co-branded credit card. Those efforts are designed to grow ticket and onboard revenues across all distribution channels, according to a statement from Carnival.

Borden reports to Jim Berra, CMO and SVP at the company.

Borden most recently served as CMO at loyalty marketing firm Points International. Previously, he worked as GM and partner for loyalty and relationship marketing at Microsoft and SkyMiles program director and president at Delta Loyalty Management Services.

Berra said in a statement that the hire will aid the company as it seeks “to build our customer marketing capabilities and expand our co-branded credit card program.”

A Carnival representative could not be immediately reached for comment.
