Medical signs / Consumer campaign

It takes a special kind of campaign to leverage humorous images for marketing ends. In a campaign around its travel health insurance and medical evacuation service, KarstadtQuelle Insurance and its agency Jung von Matt AG did just that. The ads displayed medical signs from popular travel destinations, highlighting the likelihood of poor healthcare in those areas. The push succeeded in being light-hearted rather than culturally insensitive and drew more than one double take from targets. And just when you've scanned the picture, wondering “What is this an ad for, exactly?” the little tag with KarstadtQuelle's contact information pokes through, and interest is piqued.
