The simplest ideas are often the best, as was the case when Arc needed a way to illustrate that iShares Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are transparent, or in other words, that investors aren't putting their money into anything they can't see. Arc's solution? The agency created an entirely transparent direct mail piece and sent it to professional investors across Europe. The financial crisis left this audience wary, but also looking for smarter solutions that could help them manage their risk. The simple yet clever transparent direct mail pitch from iShares delivered the message that ETFs are a product professional investors can trust.

Track day invite/Single consumer

Agency: Rapp, New Zealand
Client: Volkswagen

Volkswagen and Rapp teamed up to drive new car sales in New Zealand by inviting current Golf GTI owners to a private track day event where they could put the newest model through its paces. The direct mail invitation included a magnet personalized with the recipient's name and visuals. The campaign had an 88% response rate.

Client: Westpac New Zealand

Following the financial crisis, Westpac wanted to make New Zealand's importing and exporting businesses aware that the bank's international team could advise them. Saatchi & Saatchi DGS' solution was a direct mail campaign that looks like a shark fin on one side. This gives the piece immediate impact while also illustrating the idea that trouble is lurking.  When it's flipped over, the mailer turns into a keel to steer you through the storm.
