Nonprofit agency Russ Reid Co. was tasked with reaching donors who had previously contributed over $200 to World Vision. Hoping to give this audience a new reason to become personally engaged in helping to meet a child's needs beyond writing a check, Russ Reid sent them T-shirts with hang-tags they could sign and return to a child along with their donation. On the T-shirts was printed: “I have a friend in Canada.”
