Capella U Hires Avenue A/Razorfish

Capella University, an accredited online university in Minneapolis, picked Avenue A/Razorfish, Seattle, to handle online advertising responsibilities as the interactive agency of record.


The university also tapped Avenue A/Razorfish's sister agency, i-Frontier, for online creative work. Avenue A/Razorfish is in charge of media planning and buying for online media and search as well as analytics.


The two shops, owned by aQuantive Inc., were finalists last year for Capella's account. Both agencies are charged with creating and executing interactive ads to attract students to enroll online with Capella.


Founded in 1993, Capella targets career-focused adults. The university claims to have enrolled 11,000 students this year from 50 countries. Capella Education Co. is the institution's owner.


Avenue A/Razorfish clients include Best Buy Co., Microsoft Corp.'s MSN, WeightWatchers.com, Wells Fargo, AstraZeneca and Kraft.
