Cannes Lions Opens Delegate Registration

Registration for the International Advertising Festival, better known as Cannes Lions, will open online starting today. Delegates and media can visit to register for the 52nd Cannes Lions to be held in Cannes, France. The site includes hotel information and traveling tips for the French Riviera.

This year's Cannes Lions is scheduled for June 19-25. The deadline for registration is May 13. Entry kits for the competition will be available Feb. 3 at

The most highly regarded international advertising competition, Cannes Lions typically attracts more than 8,000 visitors from advertising agencies and advertiser companies worldwide. More than 18,000 ads are showcased each year at Cannes Lions, judged by media categories such as print, cyber, radio, direct, television/cinema and outdoor.

Though only a few years old, the Cannes Lions Direct has already become a formidable rival to the Direct Marketing Association's International Echo Awards and the John Caples International Awards.

Last year, British publisher Emap bought Cannes Lions for $96.5 million. Cannes Lions is headquartered in London.
