Cabela's Annual Direct Sales Reach $1 Billion

Revenue increased 16.6 percent in the fourth fiscal quarter to reach $675.4 million for Cabela's Inc., the company said yesterday. Same-store sales decreased 4.7 percent during the quarter.


The Sydney, NE-based retailer of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear also said its net income for the same period increased 10.5 percent to $42.5 million compared to $38.5 million for the fiscal fourth quarter of 2004. During the fourth quarter, direct revenue increased 7.1 percent for a total of $404.9 million.


For the full year, revenue increased 15.7 percent to $1.8 billion while same-store sales decreased 6.3 percent. The company's revenue from direct sales increased 6.9 percent to $1 billion.


Net income for the year increased 11.7 percent for a total of $72.6 million compare to $65 million for fiscal 2004. The company also reported diluted earnings per share growth of 6.8 percent.
