Buy.com Sweepstakes Take Aim At Back-to-College Market

Buy.com, a computer-related Internet retail firm, has launched a sweepstakes campaign targeted at college students preparing to head back to school.


Headlining the giveaways are three $10,000 scholarships from Microsoft Corp. Other notable sweepstakes offers include four $5,000 buy.com shopping sprees and three spring break vacations to Hawaii.


Giveaway prizes also included are 24 buy.com gift certificates worth $5,000, as well as a number of computer-related accessories. The campaign began Aug. 11 and will run through Sept. 22 with the scholarship prize winners scheduled to be announced in early October.


Buy.com, Aliso Viejo, CA, offers an array of computer-related hardware, software, accessories, games and books. Financial terms of its agreement with Microsoft were not disclosed.
