Business Objects Announces New CRM Initiative

Business Objects, a business intelligence services vendor, yesterday unveiled a new global alliance program called the Business Objects Open Customer Relationship Management Partner Initiative.

The initiative was created to let application providers, consulting companies and software vendors work with Business Objects to provide their mutual clients with complete customer analysis capabilities.

The first companies to join the initiative are Acxiom Corp., eGain Communications Corp., Fair, Isaac and Co., MatchLogic and NuEdge Systems.

According to Business Objects, San Jose, CA, the initiative aims to give companies a better understanding of their customers and the ability to act on this knowledge to create more lasting and profitable customer relationships.

Business Objects yesterday also announced its first analytic application for the customer intelligence market and a framework for organizations to build custom applications.

The analytic application, called BusinessObjects Customer Intelligence, is the first in a series of analytic applications the company plans to deliver in support of its enterprise analytic applications strategy, announced in December.

BusinessObjects Customer Intelligence lets sales and marketing managers improve the performance of their businesses by providing analytics that help optimize sales force productivity, customer profitability and marketing efficiency.

The application, called the Business Objects Application Foundation, is an application framework that lets businesses quickly develop integrated enterprise analytic applications.

Application Foundation is the cornerstone of BusinessObjects Analytics, the company's suite of integrated enterprise analytic applications.
