Budget, Homestore.com Sign 10-Year Marketing Pact

Budget Group Inc., Lisle, IL, yesterday said it signed a 10-year strategic alliance with Homestore.com Inc., Thousand Oaks, CA, an Internet-based home and real estate network.


Budget Group, through its Budget Truck Group division, which includes Ryder TRS and Budget Truck Rental, will initiate a broad-scope Internet strategy for local and one-way truck rental.


As part of the agreement, Homestore.com visitors will have access to free online truck rental quotes, reservations and online purchase of boxes and other moving supplies form Ryder and Budget.


In return for marketing and branding services, Homestore.com will pay Budget through stock shares priced at the close of Monday's NASDAQ market.


Homestore.com will participate in online and offline Budget Group media commitments, including national Yellow Pages advertising, print, television and radio advertising as well as in-store promotions. Budget's fleet of moving trucks will carry Homestore.com's logo.
